Ralf Schmid is a German entrepreneur in the alloy wheel industry: he founded the Alutec alloy wheel brand in 1996, which grew into the Uniwheels group, one of Europe's largest alloy wheel suppliers. In 2017 he and his cousin Michael Schmid sold their combined 61.3% stake in Uniwheels to US rival Superior Industries International, in a transaction reported at around €400m for the founders' stake and roughly €660m for the company. Several yacht-industry outlets and a Forbes listing report that Schmid is the owner of the 75.5m Oceanco Wheels (ex-Anastasia), but this ownership is not confirmed by the owner or by any registry document; superyachts of this type are typically held through corporate structures.
