Roman Abramovich is a Russian-Israeli businessman who built his fortune primarily through a stake in the oil company Sibneft, sold to the Russian state in 2005, along with interests in steel and mining (including Evraz) and investment holdings. He was the long-time owner of Chelsea FC until its 2022 sale, and was sanctioned by the UK and EU following Russia's 2022 invasion of Ukraine. Solaris, delivered in 2021 and flagged in Bermuda, is widely reported in mainstream media and by ship-tracking data as his yacht; as with most large yachts, legal title is generally held through corporate structures rather than in his own name, and he has not publicly confirmed ownership.
